The Reverend Edmund L. Hoener was born in Brooklyn, NY. When he was 4, his family moved to NJ and he spent most of his formative years in Rahway. As a young man, he put himself through college at night, while working full time at Public Works in Rahway. After earning his Psychology degree, he had always considered going to seminary “some day” to study how spirituality and psychology can be part of treatment plans. Through a series of coincidences, his plans for continuing education in Clinical psychology were thwarted, and he suddenly found himself admitted to Princeton Theological Seminary. Ed has been a pastor since 1992, serving churches in NY State in Vestal, Binghamton, Tonawanda and two interim pastorates in Mendon, and Scottsville, NY.

Ed is married to a wonderful person and his best friend, Diane. They love music of almost all kinds, like to canoe and kayak, and both are certified in open-water scuba diving. Some of their other hobbies include camping, bike riding, and vacationing – exploring different places, and discovering great places to eat.

Carol Ann Bregman has been the Church Administrator of First Pres since April of 2007. She grew up in Rahway, New Jersey and lived there for most of her life. She has always enjoyed working in people-oriented jobs and has found the church office to be one of the most diverse opportunities in which to connect with others. Carol Ann became the church’s Bookkeeper in 2016. She enjoys reading, cooking, creating websites, and spending time with her husband, dogs, family and friends.

Carole Huntley is a retiree after working 30+ years for the State of New Jersey. She is a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rahway and has served as Treasurer since 2016. Carole is a member of the History Committee and the Flea Market Committee as well. She likes to read in her spare time and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Evan O’Donovan is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Rahway, New Jersey. Evan grew up in Bellmore, Long Island where he spent his youth studying piano and opera, performing in theatrical productions, and leading his high school’s music ministry. He went on to study at Fordham University, performing in the university’s choir and with numerous bands all around NYC in his spare time.
