SECOND PRESBYTERIAN MISSION FUND
CRITERIA: The Fund shall be used for financial assistance for AIDS, health, hunger, education and at-risk youth issues especially in, but not limited to, Rahway. It may also be used to fund congregational/leadership retreats and/or summer camp and other youth scholarships. Consideration would be given to an individual on a case-by-case basis. When a request is from a group, the activity and need should be of a special nature outside of normal budgetary operation and program expenses.
GRANT DEADLINES: May 1 and November 1: Awardees will be notified approximately one month later.
AWARD AMOUNTS: The Fund shall disburse approximately $15,000 per year. Grants shall typically be between $1,000 and $5,000.
PAST AWARDS:
- CERT: ($15,000) funded disaster coordinator and food, appliances, and mold remediation for affected families after Superstorm Sandy
- Rahway Food for Friends: ($5,000): Saturday Soup Kitchen
- Youth Scholarships: ($2,000): funded scholarships for youth to attend Camp Johnsonburg and the Youth Triennium at Purdue University
- Divine Mercy Church: ($2,500): Sunday soup kitchen program
- Individual Scholarships: ($6,000): education scholarships
- Redeeming Care Center: ($300):AIDS awareness speaker cost
